Who pays us, and what that does not buy
The register is editorial. Classification, shelf, privacy level, status and the who-it-is-not-for section are set by the editors and are not for sale.
Stays are arranged on request, and the arranging side may earn a commission from the property in the ordinary way of the trade. That relationship has no effect on any editorial field, and a property that declines to work with us commercially is recorded exactly as one that does.
A future Preferred designation will mark a commercial relationship. It will be labelled as commercial, shown separately from the editorial fields, and never presented as an editorial verdict.
The register does not rank, does not award, and does not sell placement. No field in it means better or worse.
