How a fact becomes a published fact
Every entry carries its state, and the state is on the page: structured record, editorial entry, source-verified, property-confirmed. Nothing is presented as confirmed before it is.
Inventory figures need two independent sources. Where sources disagree, both are carried and the disagreement is published rather than resolved by preference — a hotel's own site giving two different room counts is a fact about the hotel, not a problem to hide.
The Verification block on each record names what has been checked and what is awaiting confirmation from the property. An empty Last verified field means exactly that: not yet.
On-island inspection is recorded separately from research. Where a property has been visited or filmed, the record says so. Where it has not, the record does not imply otherwise.
