Tasman Sea
Tasmania and the cool southern edge of the Pacific.
1 record. Picnic Island is a few acres of granite in Great Oyster Bay with one timber house on it, let to one party, with the Hazards on the mainland behind and fur seals using the rocks.
It is here to make a point the rest of the register needs: exclusivity is not a temperature. Eleven-degree water, a house for ten, and an island that empties completely when the party goes out — the same product as an atoll, at a Tasmanian price, with oysters instead of coral.
A single record is not a region, and the atlas says so rather than padding. When the second Tasman entry arrives this page will be worth reading twice.
