North Atlantic
Scotland, Ireland, the Scillies and the Norwegian coast — cold water, long light and stone.
6 records — England, Scotland, Norway — and the coldest, cheapest exclusivity in the register. A Norwegian light station let whole costs a fraction of an atoll and offers the same thing: nobody else on the land.
Weather is not a footnote here but a term of the booking. Crossings depend on the sea, arrivals and departures move, and a stay can be extended by a storm. The register states this on every entry because a traveller who needs fixed dates should not be sold a rock in the Atlantic.
The buildings are working ones: keepers' houses, a 1929 hotel, a Duchy estate leased by the same family since 1834. Nothing here was built for tourism, which is why it looks the way it does.
