Osea Island
An Essex tidal island reached by a causeway that the sea covers twice a day.
Osea lies in the Blackwater estuary in Essex, connected to the mainland by a Roman-era causeway that floods on every tide — for most of the day the island cannot be reached or left. It is privately owned and closed to the public. The estuary here is a birdwatching coast rather than a beach one: saltmarsh, mudflat and big skies.
The island carries a collection of cottages and a manor rather than a hotel, let for whole-island hire and used heavily for events, retreats and recording. This register holds it as Status Unverified: the ownership and the letting arrangements have changed more than once, and no current public inventory can be confirmed. It is listed because the island matters, not because a stay can be booked on the strength of this entry.
The tide is the gatekeeper. Guests arrive and leave in windows set by the water. Almost nothing else in this register is closed off from the mainland on a daily schedule.

Osea is wrong for anyone expecting hotel service — the model is self-catering with staff arranged separately. It is wrong for travellers who need to come and go freely, since the causeway dictates the day. And it is wrong for guests wanting warm water and a beach; this is a cold estuary with saltmarsh. Those wanting a British island with a hotel behind it should look at Burgh Island or Isle of Eriska.
