Vatuvara Private Islands

Vatuvara held a private archipelago in the northern Lau group of Fiji — four islands, of which only Kaibu carried guest accommodation while the others were kept as conservation land, including Vatuvara itself, a limestone island with forest and caves. The Lau group is among the most remote inhabited water in the South Pacific, days from anywhere by boat and an hour by air from Nadi.

Three villas on Kaibu held a maximum of around twelve guests across the whole archipelago. The property has since changed hands and been renamed Kaibu Island, which is held as a separate record here. This entry closes the Vatuvara chapter rather than the islands, which are unchanged.

Conservation land by design. Three of the four islands were never built on, and the arrangement was the property's stated purpose rather than a constraint.
