Saba Rock
A rock the size of a tennis court in the BVI, with a bar that half the Caribbean has drunk in.
Saba Rock is a tiny outcrop in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands — barely an acre, reached by the property's free ferry or by dinghy from an anchored yacht. It sits at P1 in this register and belongs in the Extended Index rather than the collection, and the reason is plain: the bar and restaurant are the point, the yacht crowd arrives all day, and privacy is not on offer.
Around nine rooms and suites sit above the bar. The property was flattened by Hurricane Irma in 2017 and rebuilt from nothing, reopening in 2021 with a bigger dock and the same function — the social centre of North Sound, a short dinghy ride from Necker and Moskito.

Who it is not for
Saba Rock is wrong for guests seeking privacy or quiet: it is a bar with rooms above it, and the day traffic is the business. It is wrong for travellers wanting a beach or space to walk, since there is neither. And it is wrong for anyone expecting resort service. Those wanting the BVI privately should look at Guana Island or Necker, both within sight.
