Thelu Veliga is a small island in South Ari Atoll, reached by seaplane or by domestic flight and boat. One resort occupies it. South Ari is the atoll where whale sharks are resident year-round, and the aggregation sites are within reach of the property's boats — the principal reason to stay in this part of the Maldives.
Around twenty villas, beach and overwater, make up the property, which is small and modest by the standards of the atoll's better-known resorts. The register records it as a Little Paradise on scale rather than on ambition: this is a compact island resort, not a design statement, and it sits below its neighbours in finish.
Whale sharks, year-round, nearby. South Ari's resident population is the property's strongest argument and belongs to the atoll rather than the hotel.

Those wanting South Ari at a higher level should look at Kandolhu or W Maldives.
