Kudadoo Maldives Private Island

Kudadoo sits in Lhaviyani Atoll, a forty-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport. One resort occupies the island. Its central pavilion is covered by a single solar canopy carrying 984 panels; the operator states this makes it the only fully solar-powered private island in the Maldives, and Sleeper reported the array generates enough to run the resort without importing diesel. The architect is Yuji Yamazaki. The resort opened in 2018.

Fifteen over-water residences — thirteen of one bedroom and two of two — each with a 44 m² pool and a butler, reached by a curving jetty. There is no beach villa and no land accommodation. The inclusive model is called Anything. Anytime. Anywhere. and covers dining, the wine cellar, spa treatments, excursions, diving and snorkelling. Dining is one restaurant, The Retreat, with a wine cellar and destination dining; guests also reach the undersea restaurant at the sister island Hurawalhi by speedboat. Both islands belong to Crown & Champa Resorts.

The roof is the building. The canopy is not an array added to a finished pavilion but the structure itself, which is why the island's energy position is visible on arrival rather than stated in a report.

The whole island is offered, and what that includes is published. The hire covers all fifteen residences plus two over-water rooms for an entourage, a personal chef, the wine cellar, unlimited spa and a trainer. The operator states there is no minimum age limit for guests on a buyout.

Sources disagree

the operator's buyout page states no minimum age limit; a trade register states under-15s may occupy only the two two-bedroom residences. Both are carried: the second is a description of the room stock, the first a statement about the hire. The register has not reconciled them with the property.
