Rosewood Ranfaru

A Maldivian island announced for 2027, ten minutes by seaplane from Malé.

Full entry · sources recorded · verification stamp pending

Ranfaru is an island in the Maldives announced for development under Rosewood, with transfer stated as around thirty-five minutes by yacht or ten minutes by seaplane from Malé — unusually close for a new resort at this level. The atoll and the surrounding water are the property's principal assets and are not yet documented in detail.

The published plan runs to around 120 villas with the group's usual programme of spa, dining and residences. Opening is stated for 2027. This entry records announcements with their dates and nothing else: no design, service or guest experience should be inferred from it, and figures may change before the property opens.

Close to Malé at a high level. Most new resorts of this size are far out. A ten-minute seaplane transfer changes the shape of a short stay considerably.

Announced, not built. Everything in this entry is a plan. The register carries it so that the name resolves, and will rewrite it when the island opens.

Who it is not for

Ranfaru is wrong for anyone planning travel before an opening is confirmed. It is wrong for guests who want a property with a track record. And it is wrong for travellers seeking remoteness, given the proximity to Malé. And it is wrong for anyone who dislikes booking into an unknown, since no guest has yet stayed. Those wanting service at this level in the Maldives now should look at Cheval Blanc Randheli or JOALI.
