Raffles Udaipur occupies a private island of twenty-one acres in Udai Sagar, a lake east of Udaipur in Rajasthan, reached by boat from a lakeshore arrival point about twenty minutes from the airport. The architecture is Indo-Saracenic — domed pavilions, carved colonnades — set in Baroque-inspired gardens. It is a lake island rather than a sea one, and it sits at P2 in this register because the property is split between the island and a second site on the mainland.
The island holds 101 rooms and suites, many with plunge pools. A further 36 rooms at Raffles Lakeshore, on the shore, were added in 2025. The hotel opened in 2021 and is the group's first in India.

Raffles Udaipur is wrong for guests wanting the famous Lake Pichola setting, which is a different lake and a different view. It is wrong for travellers seeking a small island retreat, since this is a large hotel. And it is wrong for those who want to walk into Udaipur in the evening. Those wanting a small lake island should look at Jicaro or Mumbo.
