Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort

Medjumbe is a tiny coral island in the Quirimbas Archipelago off northern Mozambique — a sandbank about a kilometre long and a few hundred metres wide, with a disused lighthouse and nothing else. One resort occupied it. The archipelago's reefs are among the least dived in the Indian Ocean and humpbacks pass through in season.

Twelve villas made up the property, adults-oriented, with no children's club and a stated policy of quiet. The resort is closed until further notice and this register carries it as Temporarily Closed with no reopening date until one is stated by the operator. Northern Mozambique's security situation has affected tourism across the province.

A sandbank you can walk in fifteen minutes. Medjumbe is among the smallest islands in this register to have carried a full resort.
