Royal Chundu holds a stretch of the Zambezi upstream of Victoria Falls on the Zambian bank, with two lodges: a river lodge on the bank and an island lodge on a private island in the channel. This entry covers the island lodge. It is not to be confused with Chundu Island, a separate property on a different island in the same river — the names are close enough that both appear in this register with a cross-reference.

Who it is not for
Royal Chundu is wrong for travellers who want a Big Five safari, which this stretch of river does not provide. It is wrong for guests needing certainty about what they are booking until the island lodge's separate status is confirmed. And it is wrong for families with small children, given the wildlife in the water. Those wanting the same river confirmed and bookable should look at Chundu Island.
