Serenity Island Resort

A genuine Fijian private island at a mainstream price, in the Mamanuca group.

Full entry · sources recorded · verification stamp pending

Serenity occupies a small island in the Mamanuca group of Fiji, reached by boat from Denarau. One property holds the island, which satisfies the formula this register measures against. It is placed in the Extended Index because the product sits at a mainstream level well below the rest of this collection, and readers comparing it with Turtle Island or Kokomo should know that in advance.

Around twenty-four rooms and bures make up the accommodation. The Mamanucas are Fiji's most accessible island group and carry heavy day-boat traffic, though the island itself is not a day-trip destination.

A private island without a private island price. The register keeps it because genuine single-property islands at this level are rare and worth recording.

Mamanuca accessibility. Under an hour from Nadi by boat, which makes it usable for short stays in a way the outer groups are not.

Who it is not for

Serenity is wrong for guests expecting the standard of this collection's better-known Fijian entries. It is wrong for travellers seeking remoteness, since the Mamanucas are the busiest waters in Fiji. And it is wrong for those wanting design or an extensive programme. And it is wrong for guests who want the service ratios described elsewhere in this collection. Those wanting Fijian privacy properly should look at Dolphin Island or Turtle Island.
