Raffles Maldives Meradhoo

The Raffles chapter of a two-island resort in the far south, now trading under another name.

Full entry · sources recorded · verification stamp pending

Meradhoo sits in Gaafu Alifu Atoll in the deep south of the Maldives, a domestic flight and a boat ride from Malé — far enough that the atoll carries almost no other resorts. The property occupies two islands, one for beach villas and one for overwater, which is unusual for a resort of this size and gives it a plan closer to an archipelago than to a single island.

It opened under Raffles and traded under that name until the management arrangement ended. The property now operates as The Halcyon Private Isles Maldives, Autograph Collection, held as a separate record in this register. Around thirty-eight villas made up the Raffles inventory, each with a pool, alongside a spa and a dive operation working reefs that see very little traffic.

Two islands at a modest scale. Most two-island resorts in the Maldives are large. Meradhoo split thirty-eight villas across two, which produces an unusual amount of space per guest.

A closed name, not a closed island. The property continues. What ended was the Raffles chapter, and this record exists so the earlier name resolves to something.
