Saudi Arabia

6 island properties in Saudi Arabia, all of them written in full. The register holds 2 in Island Resorts, 2 in Entire Island, 1 in Archipelagos & Atolls.

6 records, all on the Red Sea, and the youngest hospitality water in the world. These reefs had almost no recreational visitors in living memory because the country was closed to tourism, and the first international resorts opened in the last few years.

The development framework is the fact worth knowing before the architecture. A cap on keys across the whole destination, marine protection written into the plan, and villas prefabricated on the mainland and floated into position so the reef was never a construction site. Whether that holds as the destination fills is the open question, and the register will record the answer rather than forecast it.

Shebara is the correction this register had to make in public: it was carried as one island until an editor stayed there, and it is four, two of which carry a four-villa ensemble each and are let entire.

Everything here is new, which means there is no operating record to read. Every record in this country says so rather than borrowing confidence from the brand above the door.
