Shebara — Crown Villas Ensemble

An islet of its own inside the Shebara archipelago, carrying the four Crown villas and nothing else.

Editorial entry · sources recorded · property confirmation pending

The Crown Villas Ensemble stands on one of the four islands of Shebara, in the Saudi Red Sea, reached by boat from the main island. Nothing else is built on it. The reefs around the archipelago have had almost no visitor history, and the destination operates under a framework that caps the number of keys and protects the marine area around them.

The ensemble is four villas — three of one bedroom and one larger — and it is booked entire, which means the islet goes with it. That makes it a private island within a resort, the category already held here by Voavah in Baa Atoll and by the Cheval Blanc Private Island at Randheli. The parent resort, seventy-three villas of mirrored steel, is a short boat ride across and supplies the kitchens, the spa and the dive operation that four villas could never justify alone.

Four villas, one islet, one party. Not a villa on a jetty and not a wing of the resort: the land is taken whole, and the count of who else is on it comes out at zero.

Scale borrowed from the parent. A group this size cannot carry restaurants and a dive centre; a seventy-three-villa resort across the water can, and does.

Who it is not for

This is wrong for a couple, who would be paying for four villas to use one, and wrong for a party larger than the ensemble holds — an overflow lands in the parent resort, where the privacy argument disappears. It is wrong for travellers who want an established destination with a long record of reviews, since this coast opened recently. And it is wrong for guests seeking traditional island architecture, which the archipelago does not contain. Those wanting the same water at resort scale should look at Shebara itself, or at Nujuma nearby.
